The Kingfisher Photography Hide is spacious inside and there is also ample space to store bags etc behind you.
There is no walk at this hide, you basically park at the door. It also caters for disabled photographers and is designed to allow wheelchair access.
On cold days there is also a heater available. Woman’s toilets are also on site which are clean and kept to a high standard.
For the diving pool you are needing around 300mm focal length on a full frame camera. We recommend to use a beanbag, but tripods can also be used here. We feel this diving pool is better designed than the few others that are available in the UK.
With the others your camera is outside the hide all day so you can not check your images, but we have chose to design it so you can shoot from the hide which means you have the chance to view images and change any camera settings required throughout the day. This is a huge plus, especially on days with changing light levels.
The backdrop at the hides are a good 100 yards away which again is something not offered by the others. The new pool is 8ft wide and has no visible lip which makes for some incredible images. We have made things as simple as possible so no matter what level of photography you are at this hide will give you great images.
It really is as straightforward as could be so do not be intimidated if you are a novice. At the start of your day you will be shown how to set up.
Although on cold days there is also a heater available, comfort is essential to making sure you get the most out of your time in the hide therefore warm clothing is a must in the colder months. For this time we recommend thermal leggings and tops with a couple of layers on top. There is no walk to the hide as you can park next to the door. Dark upper clothing is also desirable.
Woman’s toilets are also available.

There aren\’t enough superlatives to describe the viewing at the Kingfisher Hide. The hide is comfortable (I managed to sit fairly still for 11 hours) and the viewing area is as open as you could wish for. The perched shots I got of a male kingfisher are everything I\’d hoped for. I did manage to get a diving shot despite it being my first time at the hide. Whilst there is huge room for improvement in my technique, the diving pool is a breeze to use. I couldn\’t recommend the Kingfisher Hide highly enough.
